When they declared the armistice years ago, their true nature was allowed to shine through and they are now very agreeable in scent. Many people have now been known to lock a skunk in their house just before the arrival of company to make it smell good because it's cheaper than potpourri. Oo Oo Woodpecker So called because it could not find any more appropriate trees to peck and so took up pecking at concrete freeway overpasses and old billboards. Every time it pecks you can hear its cry as it painfully rubs its beak, "Oo, Oo". Fast Food Flicker This relative of the woodpeckers evolved in the city to take advantage of all the food scraps from fast food places such as Burger King and McDonalds. This is not the type of bird you would normally hunt and eat, but amazingly their meat is edible and doesn't have to be cooked- if you don't like it, just add a little more grease. Their call can be heard resounding through San Diego-"Hold the pickles, hold the lettuce." Long Haired Eagle A close relative of the now extinct Bald Eagle which died out when pollution killed all the fish that it lived on. The evolved survivors changed to another food source-long haired kids. In order to get close to their prey, the eagles grew feathers that looked like long hair and took up smoking, wearing baggy pants and gained the ability to text message.
