January 14, 2009 HOME Wynola Pizza Weekend LODGING GUIDE I Entertainment Larry Robinson Friday Is The Bait This Friday night, January 16 to the Red Barn at Wynola Pizza Express is pleased to welcome back by Larry Robinson. Larry Robinson is a singer and . songwriter with a true love for his home state of California, as evidenced in the 11 songs on his CD "Old California Town." As a family man and working musician Larry has written and recorded songs for six CDs... including 3 CDs for The Dorados, famed for their songs about the great American pastime of fishing. Old California" Town is Larry's first solo CD and is inspired by life in California From the tip of Baja up through Northern California, these songs evoke pictures of places he's been and the times he's hadl He shares those experiences with the listener in his smooth, deep, soulful voice and simple, all-acoustic musical accompaniment. Larry and co-producer Paul Beach have recorded a rich, sincere and satisfying album. He performs regularly with guitarist/violinist, Jarry Presko. The show starts at 6pm. PLOW-ing In The Red Barn Saturday Night You'll want to be early Saturday night when you head to Wynola Pizza Express and the Red Barn for a show by the foursome know as Plow. This good time band is comprised of Chris Clarke, Dave Bandrowski John Mailander and left-handed, jazz-minded Doug Walker on the doghousebass, play what some call "hillbilly" music. Here is a snippet from PLOWs #1 local fan David Lewis ..... "At only sixteen years old, John's fiddle playing is mature beyond his years. His mastery goes beyond his control of the fiddle to a place few people ever find. He has a feel for the music, as though he grew up in some Virginia holler. Dave is out there also, his playing style is somewhere beyond what I would call traditional, but you'd have to be an idiot to fault what he does on that bano.T,Chris, no less talented then Dave and John, is the group's leader. He stands right there in the middle and fits his traditional instrumental and vocal delivery into the grand scheme of things ..... Liking a certain kind of music usually means you only want to hear songs you are familiar with, played in a familiar style. However, what if you heard a song that is so good, so original, that suddenly you realize this has never been heard before and you will never hear it again? had one of those moments Saturday night. I have no idea what the song was, but as Chris, Dave and John wove one another into the incredible solo pieces each was giving, it was magic They say that, "You can lead a horse to water...," well you know the rest. You need to get to the water, and get a pure sweet sip of the talent of Plow. Even if country, or bluegrass has never made your boat float, seeing Plow will." It all begins at 6pm, but get your order in early. See you there! Mark your calendar....
