Julian Youth Basketball Season Is In Fast Break As Over 90 Participate The Julian Youth Basketball Association "tipped off" its 2012 season on January 14, 2012 with over 90 kids playing in the League in three separate divisions from K-2, 3rd-5th, and 6th-8tb grades. There are four teams in each division, which strengthens the overall competition and level of play for the kids. This year the Board recruited teams from Warner School District to join JYBA. Thanks to the efforts of Chermaine Osuna and a handful of Warner parents, JYBA is proud to add one clinic team (grades K-2nd), the "Warner Winners" (currently 1-1) for grades 3rd-5th in Division II, and three youth players (age 6-8th)on Coach Steve Gannon's Division I team, the "Green Peppers." In addition to the excellent quality of play brought to' the League by Warner players, the 8th grade class at Julian Jr. High is also fielding a strong roster, especially with high scoring and impressive play by 8th grade "phenoms" Shuluuk Linton and Albert Ramos. Thanks to our generous donations for scholarships and equipment from local merchants, Saturdays at the high school gymnasium are packed with exciting team play and good-old-fashioned fun. JYBA 2012 Sponsor Roster: Viejas Band of Kumeyaay, Ransom Brothers, Den's Market, Julian Grille, Julian Tea & Cottage, The Birdwatcher, and Mom's Pie Shop.
