6 The Julian News Hillside Community Church Celebrates - A New Beginning Hillside Community Church, April5th- The official change Julian, held its first service a little more than 5 years ago in the old Julian Baptist Church on "C" Street. Established as a satellite church of Emmanuel Faith Community Church of Escondido, Hillside has grown strong under the guidance of Emmanuel Faith's elders, pastors, and accounting department, while always operating semi- independently. With Pastor Rick Hill at its helm, Hillside has sailed through fairly calm seas to become what it is today - a very fine Bible teaching church with a loving and welcoming congregation. What's being celebrated? Hillside is becoming officially it's own non-denominational, locally and independently run entity called Hillside Community Church, Inc.. It will no longer be a part of Emmanuel Faith Community Church. The church will now seat its own elders, local men who have willingly taken on the position, and offer memberships to its congregation while operating as a self- governing body with its own constitution. So, as of April 1, Hillside will begin celebrating its achievement to self-governance and will do so for the entire month of April. You're invited to come and celebrate with us! Join us each Sunday, this April, as we present special celebratory events: takes place and a special potluck follows service. April 12th - Resurrection (Easter) Sunday April 19th - The Emmanuel Faith Childrens Choir sings and a "Souper Supper" follows service. April 26th - Matt Taylor of Occidental College speaks and a "Came Asada" BBQ .follows service. On April 26th we will have two worship opportunities at 8:30 and 10:30 AM for your convenience. It's Time to Celebrate! See you at H.C.C.
