Jack's Grocery, the heartbeat of Julian is alive and well. The busy first day was a true testament to the love Julian has for the Stadelli family. Jack and Virginia started Jack's Grocery many moons ago. They worked seven days a week for years to make it all work, believe me! Jack's always had superior meat and produce, key to a good grocery store. Jack's is truely our neighborhood, town grocery store. I personally welcome back Janice and Dennis Olsen, and I would like to thank Virginia and Don Stadelli for helping Julian. Jack's isn't just another small town "men and pop" grocery. Jack's Grocery is Julian. Rick Campbell Julian Thank you to Dianne Jacob! CERT/TEEN CERT Julian Cuyamaca would like to thank Dianne Jacob and the Board of Supervisors for approving the Neighborhood . Reinvestment Grant. These funds are providing the community with a 40' storage container for disaster supplies. This container was delivered to the high school (our designated safe space for evacuations) this morning with Mobile Mini Poway donating the delivery fees. Additionally, funds are providing HAM radios and equipment so we can better communicate during an event. CERT trainers have provided HAM training - free of charge ($5 for the card) for 56 people of which 28 are our own CERT members! Remember June 14th is when the next CERT academy is from 6:00 - 8:30 on .Monday evenings. We have funding for training supplies. If you would like to participate please contact me at: certjulian@hotmail.com or 760-310-0976 to register. The location depends upon the amount of people registered. The turnout was huge and it was such a positive, uplifting evening. My dad was able to be there for the entire night. H had to leave quickly after because he ran out of energy. So many times throughout the night I looked over to see his face always with a smile on it. Thank you to all the locals who were able to show up. Thank you to people who traveled from other cities. Thank you to Wynola Pizza Express for making it possible. Thank you to all the businesses and people who donated various items for the raffle. Thank you to anyone else who contributed in any way. With various donations, the raffle and the percentage from the food, we were able to raise a good amount of money that will definitely help during this time. The best part of the night was just everyone getting together and having a good time. Dad told us later that night when we got home, "1 do have a lot of friends." He was pleasantly surprised to see how much support he really does have and how many people are walking right alongside him in heart and prayer. Thank you from our entire Blaylock family!!! The Julian Merchants held a Social Networking meeting last night at the Wynola Pizza Red Barn to enlighten those who are on or would like to be on Web sites like Facebook, Twitter and more. The meeting was fully booked. Merchants who belonged to JMA attended for free. Those who did. not, paid a nominal fee of $5.00 to attend. We learned in the first meeting that we need a beginners class for those of us who were not experienced in social networks. Those of us already familiar and online in those networks may need an intermediate class. We had so much to learn and so many questions that the time soon ran out and we stayed an hour over trying to learn as much as possible. It is one of the best attempts of JMA to help merchants that I personally have experienced. We are considering other classes of different experience levels. If you are interested in attending an upcoming workshop on Social Networking for your business contact Barbara Hedrick at 505- 250-5160, SANTA DRILL May 26, 2010 / heard around the table ,..
