June 9, 2010 FISHING REPORT News from Lake Cuyamaca Last Week's Results and This Week's Prognosis THE TACKLE SHOP IS OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK 6:00 AM TO 6:00 PM SHORE FISHING GOES UNTIL 7:30 PM Now is the time to come up to see the wild flowers. They are at their peak right now. Lots of wildlife along the trails and highway. The Bald Eagles have been flying over almost daily. ATTENTION ALL YOU GEOCACHE FANS. The staff here at Lake Cuyamaca have devised a geocache trail that should provide fun and outdoor activity for the whole family. The trail is 1.96 miles and takes about an hour to walk while looking for the hidden geocaches. You will need to bring your GPS and good walking shoes. Stop in at the tackleshop on West Shore to get the flyer with the clues and coordinants. The Ranger will give you directions for the Trail Head. BEST BAIT: Green Power Bait, Nightcrawlers BEST SPOTS: Pumphouse Cove, Lone Pine and Dam NOTABLES: Rod and Tom Knochenhauer of San Diego each limited out with Rainbow trout using Green Power Bait at Lone Pine. Rob and Rose Arnold from National City each limited out with 25 Crappie at Pumphouse Cove using green/red tube jigs. Eric Winterhalder of Santee got 5 nice Rainbows at the Dam using green Power Bait. Jackie Sarrano of Santee also got 5 trout at the Dam. \\; Tom and Lorrie Lamke of Alpine each got 5 trout using Power Bait at Lone Pine. Chris Stanley's 4th graders from Santee had a super time catching lots of fish on Friday. This is an annual event with Chris which we all look forward to. All in all a good week for fishing. Many other limits of trout and lots of Crappie for Mike's Fish Fry were caught . Next week Jess Ranch will be delivering 1700 pounds of nice trout.
