The dell is located at 2000 Main St in the Stonewall Building. They are open Tuesday through Sunday 11am to 6pro and currently employee 2 Julian residents. TwainFest celebrates the writing of Mark Twain and many of his 19th-century contemporaries including Emily Dickinson, Paul Dunbar, Ambrose Bierce, Edgar Allan Poe, Walt Whitman and many more. This year's activities include Special guest Charles Harrington Elster, author and co-founder of the popular radio show A Way With Words, who will kick off the TwainFest programming in the Whaley House courtroom with three scheduled appearances. A variety of word and literature- based games and performances will also be offered, beginning at 11:30am, at the Whaley House Museum which is operated by Save Our Heritage Organisation (SOHO), a sponsor this year of TwainFest. "We are delighted to partner with SOHO to bring TwainFest to the Whaley House in the very center of Old Town's commercial district," says Walter Ritter, the TwainFest Event Manager. "Over time we plan for TwainFest to be all over Old Town, a living, breathing, laughter-loaded celebration of our marvelous culture." Professional actors and musicians in period attire will perform readings and scenes in the Whaley House courtroom as well as on the grounds with a variety of activities and games suitable for the entire family. Admission to TwainFest events is free to all; normal admission prices apply for tours of the Whaley House Museum.
