The bass have been biting in the South end of the Lake. Notables: David Garsic of San Marcos caught his limit of trout at the Dam using Red, White and Blue Power Bait. The southern arm of the Lake is the shallowest part. Along the shorelines, there is emergent vegetation (cat tail, smart weed and pond weed). This provides excellent protection and food for the small fish which were hatched here. Also, in the hot summer months, new born frogs and crawfish live in the mud cracks of the dry lake bed.
