The game was delayed again as an Eagle went down with severe cramping in both legs. On Julian's 4th and 11, a Colt defender picked an errant pass at Crawford's 15. Crawford picked up a quick 9 yards and blew the doors off the barn with a 76 yard TD run. Julian 0. Crawford 28. Crawford's kick again sailed through the endzone and our Eagles took over at their own 20 and closed out the quarter with a punt and short return by the Colts. The first play of the 4th quarter was a 35 dash to the endzone by the Colts. Julian 0. Crawford 42. With 11;48 left and the clock running, our Eagles weren't ready to quit. Canales picked up 6 and Hunter picked up a first down with a quarterback sneak. An incompletion and a self-recovered fumble forced the Eagles to punt away. Crawford got the ball back with 3 minutes left on the clock and ate up the time with their final score in the last minute of the game. It was a tough row to hoe for our Eagles. The heat, injuries and illness all contributed in the loss. Our young team took one on the chin Friday afternoon, can they shake it off, come back and win? We'll find out next week when your Eagles travel to Imperial Beach at Mar Vista High School to take on the Ocean View Christian High School Patriots. The game kicks off at 7 PM. And I will have a new granddaughter to celebrate with.
