Workers must know how to and be ready, willing and able to burn the thorns off prickly pear cactus to prepare cattle feed, work cattle, clean pens and water troughs, do ranch repairs including but not limited to fence and windmill repairs, and may be required to break, train and shoe horses. Workers may be required to work alone for long periods at a time cleaning out brushy fence lines and clearing roads by digging up trees and brush stumps with a grubbing hoe, cutting limbs and cactus with an axe. Workers are required to live on the ranch and be on duty twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week without leave.
