That's right, Julian Youth Baseball will be the base for all of our kids baseball and softball needs this coming season. As we begin our preparatidn for the 2013 season, JYB has gone through some internal changes. The most obvious is that JYB will now oversee both the boys and the girls going forward. After all of the hard work from Mickey Rott and all of his helpers, ASA has relinquished their control of softball and signed off on JYB taking the great game of softball over for the girls of Julian. We as a board want to thank ASA for all of their hard work and dedication and hope that we can follow in their footsteps and continue to improve the softball experience for our girls. While we have some plans for softball that we will begin to discuss as the winter goes along, the biggest news will be that softball will now be played a Jess Martin Park. That means no more splitting of families on Saturdays. As a Dad of a boy and a girl, I know how hard it could be at times when both of your kids would be playing at the same time at different venues. That dilemma should no longer be part of the equation as your kids will all be playing within shouting distance of one another. For the record, we do encourage (respectful) shouting at all games. Baseball is a spectator sport and we encourage all families to join in and cheer on our kids. The other big news for JYB is the election of a new Board and it's Board Members. Before I introduce them, we would all like to thank all outgoing members of the Board for their time and volunteer efforts. Nothing would have ever been accomplished without your time, energy, and perseverance, as well as your love of the game and the kids. Thank you. The newly elected Board has some familiar faces, as well as some new blood. President - Kimberly Mitchell President of Softball - Vickie Brooke we can add. Take out. Good. Vice President/Information Bad. We want to make this so Officer-Zora Martinez easy my mother could have used Treasurer-Cindy Sanders it, and she was the least "gadget" Secretary-Jim Kaltenthaler minded human I've ever known. Safety Manager- Richard In the month of October we Brooke will have our first face - to - face Toni Linton- Player Agent meeting with the new District Equipment Manager-Wade Administrator as she and the Wylie Board get to know one another. Umpire-In-Chief - Tom After that meeting we will have Skibinski an even clearer view of where Auxiliary Member-Nicolle we are headed and what we Sheppard- need to do as a community to Chris Sanders-TBD? make sure all the kids get the We are still In need of a fullest experience from their Little couple more board members, League days.., and that includes so if anyone out there would like All Stars. to help and give a few hours of Among the dates to be your time each month to our kids, announced after that meeting please contact any of the above- will be a Coaches clinic, as well mentioned folks or contact us on as an Umpires clinic, before the our website, start of the 2013 season.
