Dreams, Goals And Aspirations by Peaches Boland JHS When we are young we dream to be a super hero or a firefighter or maybe a fairy princess, then you get into high school and all your dreams turn into a reality and you actually have to start thinking about what you want to do with your life. You can't always pretend that you will be a princess ,if you dad is not a king. You can start taking the steps toward your future if your goal is to be a firefighter. Now that I am a junior in high school, It's time to think about what I want to do. When I was a freshman all I wanted to be was a neurosurgeon. But then I started to realize I needed to be pretty close to a genius, so I decided that was not the path for me. One thing that I knew for sure was that I wanted to do medical, maybe not neurology but definitely medicine. For now I plan to be a doctor but that may also change. A passion of mine is, softbalH I am the catcher on the high school team, and one thing I know for sure will never change, is my passion, no matter what I do, where I go, what college I attend, I will never stop playing! I aspire to be my best, play my best and do my best. A quote that inspires me most was written by Jimmy Dean and it says "1 can't change the direction of the wirid, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination." This is saying no matter what happens I am the key element to achieving my goal. If something is pushing me in a different direction then, I have to be strong enough to push back and keep on my path. Anyone can do anything as long as they set their mind too it! And now that I know what I want to do I am figuring the steps to do so. A kitten is chiefly remarkable for rushing about like mad at nothing whatever, and generally stopping before it gets there. -- Agnes Repplier The Julian News 7 H00qD CIDER | QUILTS ! Rutherford passed away peacefully at home Friday, September 17th after an honorable battle with cancer. David was born in Brawley April 14, 1949. He attended schools in Brawley where he met many of his lifelong friends. David was a member of the Pro Rodeo Cowboys Association. He was a well respected professional rodeo clown/bullfighter from 1974 to the late 80's traveling with the J Spur and Flying U Rodeo Companies. He also spent several years working at packing sheds up and down the state following the harvest seasons, gaining friends and spreading laughter. He carried the work definition as a "fruit tramp" proudly. Later David spent many happy years on the Spoke Ranch in Julian where he was point rider to many retired rodeo stock. David so enjoyed and respected the outdoors; hunting, fishing, and admiring the landscape and wild life. In recent years David would make a day trip to Julian where he would purchase his favorite signature Mom's Apple Berry pies and deliver to friends, family, and dear friends of his mother. In recent months David, a true kid at heart, got a kick out of building and flying balsa wood airplanes with Brett. David knew no strangers, a friendly smile, strong handshake, or rowdy whistle was as common as hello. His laugh was infectious, and he was insistent on always having fun. He made friends everywhere he went and could brighten just about anyone's day. David was funny, kind, caring and generous, to a fault. He was a true cowboy with a huge heart for others. David was preceded in death by parents Barbara and Edgar Rutherford. He is survived by his brother Phillip Rutherford; sister Julie Reutter, numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews as well as his beloved companion Lynda Working to keep safe. 00v0p.'1 d00ff.
