8 The Julian News October 24, 2012 Stephen C. Kerch Broker/Owner CA DRE Lic #00551521 R Deborah J. Kerch REALTOR, RMS DRE License # 01441209 direct: 760-579-3;/16 Y of Kerch & Associates Inc: licensed since 1985 Ketch Family Orchard c.1910 National City Orchards and Real Estate Business In Kerch Family History - by DEBORAH KERCH TEVE AND I ARE PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THE OPENING OF OUR NEW AGENCY "ORCHARD RaAZrr'located at 2526 Washington St in down- town lulian. The office is situated in a charming 1920's classic Julian cottage next the Orchard Hill Country Inn. As some may know I have been with Iulian Realty for 8+ years, and I want to take a moment to thank them for the great start to my Julian sales career. It was a good run and I appreciate my time and successes there. Steve is the new agency owner and a second generation real estate broker licensed since 1979. He is a founding member of the Kearny Mesa Planning Group, the largest employer based community planning group in Sap Diego. The first generation real estate career began in 1947 with Chuck Kerch, Steve's father work- ing downtown for the Curtis Coleman Agency. He was born in National City in the house his father built amidst a lemon orchard. He enjoyed a vibrant and successful career syndicating many commercial property investments throughout National City, Mission Valley, Otay & Kearny Mesa. He was active in his business right up into his early eighties The third generation broker is Steve's son Alan Kerch. He is the designated officer for Orchard Realty and spends most of his time managing our real estate businesses in the Mis- sion Valley office which we have available for the convenience of our San Diego based clients. As for myself, I began working in profes- sional sales in 1993 as an account executive selling dental supplies and services to dentists in the north county coastal and downtown areas. My next sales position was entrepreneurial. I was invited to help form the Mission Valley Chamber of Commerce by the editor of a small commu- nity newspaper called the Mission Valley Voice where I sold memberships and ad space. It was a fun time and I learned a lot about myself both professionally and personally. After that, I went to work for a relocation company as the Vice President of corporate development, a great title for a 'salesperson' responsible for securing contracts for recruit- ment and relocation services with corporations specializing in Biotech & Telecommunications industries. This job really began my career in real estate as we relocated high level executives, scientists, and engineers into the San Diego community. The relocation business involved finding homes, helping people assimilate to a new community - much like what I do today. , Since moving to Julian and working in real estate sales I have managed to close over 22 million dollars in gross sales transactions, gained a good reputation as a skilled agent, and moreover I have formed incredible relation- ships both professionally and personally. I have met amazing people and watched them leave their Julian homes on to new adventures, as well as having helped nurture new property owners into this very special community. This is truly the best part real estate sales. Opening our own agency is exciting but even more so to be working together in a family business; Steve will bring to the agency 30 + years of experience and business exper- tise in the area of commercial and industrial real estate investment, and asset management. Orchard Realty is proud to offer a variety of services to fulfill your real estate needs, includ- ing property sales and services, vacation and property rental management.
