This is a true keep-sake for anyone from Julian or as a memento for a visitor to our little town. Eagle Football continued from page 1 The Dragons first pass bounced of the shoulder pads of the Dragons receiver, the top of Cole's helmet and into the waiting arms of Hake. Minnesota Fats couldn't have hit a cleaner bank shot. Eagles ball. Your Eagles are again on the move when spinning out of a tackle, Justin has the ball knocked loose and the Dragons recover with less than 2 minutes in the game. The Dragons first pass got knocked away by Dennis and their last pass of the evening was picked off by all 5'5" of Cole Southcott, sealing the Dragons doom. The final score is the Julian Eagles 23, the San Pasqual Academy Dragons 0. Our Eagles played up to their capabilities tonight and won. They will face Foothills Christian in their final game of the 2010 season next Friday afternoon at 2:30. The Eagles will be honoring Julian's military veterans before the game. Be there to show your support for our honored veterans and our team. LOG HOME? NEED FINANCING, REFI ? With both projects I learned a lot of important life skills I use every day. I learned to train my dog properly, how to grow a small garden, to set a table properly and how to model. Dog 4-H took place in the Escondido Dog group and Arts and Design took place in the Julian/Santa Ysabel group. Let me tell you about Arts and Design. I did Arts and Design this year. The categories I did were container gardens, favorite foods, and fashion review. In favorite foods I cooked O'Henry Bars with a mountain hike theme. In favorite foods you have to have a theme, a food, a menu, a place setting, and a center piece. In fashion review I did a casual look with a hike look to it to match my favorite foods project. In the container garden you have to plant the same plants with the same watering needs. Sounds boring right? Wrong! You just have to do the research. I did mine on beautiful succulents with rocks and moss. The container garden project was my favorite project, but it was the hardest. You have water it every day and make sure it is in the right light. Dog 4-H is my favorite project in 4-H. It helps you have a better bond with your dog while training it. I don't care if my dog Snickers gets out of the yard, but I freak out if my crazed dog Roxy gets out of the yard. Do you want to know the difference? I did Escondido dog 4-H with my dog Snickers. I can have a lot more fun with Snickers than with Roxy. Dog 4-H teaches you how to train and raise your dog properly. I made three new good friends Iona, Lilly, and Brenna. I hope I do as good next year as I did this year. We had shows at the East County Fair, Del Mar Fair, and Ramc;na Fair. So you learned about Arts and Design and Dog 4-H. You learned about how to do those sorts of things and I really hope you do those projects. I hope I did not bore you with my essay. Thank you to all of the people who taught me these things. I hoped you had as much fun reading it as I had doing them. Lizzie is modestly not mentioning how she did in competitions with the Escondido/ San Diego County 4-H dog project. She won several first, second and third place awards at the numerous shows, including first place in the junior novice division in both the obedience and showmanship classes and high point at the Del Mar Fair in June 2010 and first place junior novice division in the obedience class at the Ramona Fair in July 2009. She is currently working on her Junior Leadership membership with the Escondido dog group and will be working with the new Julian dog 4-H group helping them establish a dog group by demonstrating and helping new dog group members and their dogs. added by proud mom, Connie Everybody shouM have his personal soun'ds to listen for-sounds that will make him exhilarated and alive or quiet and calm. One of the greatest Sounds of them all-and to me it is a sound-is utter, complete silence. - Andre Kostelanetz R.ED. by Mike Mafland _ilt r __ L r:::, .... TT_ ,,.
