Tah yards and the Rams lose 10 Beresford has the tools. He can be a game breaker. Cole Southcott has the speed to make plays happen. Ronnie Jones has even greater speed. With a yards on a Webb recovered fumble. 4th and 20 from the their own 15. Looks like it's time to punt. And they did. About 25 yards vertically and maybe 10 yards down field. Ernst was playing up, took the ball at the 25 and returned the ball to the Rams 7. There's about 7 minutes until sunset as the 3rd quarter ends. The Eagles first pldy of the quarter nets 3 yards for Bretl, but a 10 yard offensive holding penalty spots theball at Borrego's 15. Maybe it's getting dark??? Flores brings his Julian career to an end with a 15-yard power dive into the Rams endzone. Touchdown, Julian! Flores' PAT clears the cross bar. Borrego 27. Julian 47. Coach White is making good his promise to put everyone In the game. After a Rams short kickoff return, rookie Ronnie Jones comes up from a deep linebacker position and levels Webb just shy of a first down. On his next carry, Webb runs the other way for 17 yards before he is brought down. Eagles get a little of that back when Johnny B. bulls his way through the Rams O line and drops Webb for a 9 yard loss. The Rams next pass clanks to the ground, but Webb picks up 15 yards on a 3rd and 19. Webb completes, a 6-yard pass to somebody in the dark for a Rams first down at the Eagles 27. Webb fades back, and I do mean fad es back in spite of the white jersey and drops a perfect BB into the open hands of a Rams receiver in the Eagles' end zone. After the Rams successfully punch their two-point conversion in, Mom calls and we all gotta go, it's too dark out. The referee calls the game because of darkness. Final score: Borrego Springs Rams: 35. Julian Eagles: 47. We didn't get into the playoffs, but the season ended on a good note. We've seen our future players and there is much potential there. Nick Massa will continue to anchor the O'line and he will be getting stronger as he anchors the Eagles new wrestling program. Austin McConnell will also grow and score points. Alex Duey will be healthy and able to play the way that we expect him to. Skyler Brothers has shown he can play; he needs a little more consistency, he'll get that with more playing time. We didn't get to see Chance Perez and Wettim Linton very much this season because they played behind Justin Flores and Josh Ernst. Daniel Casas has shown that he can play. There are seven employees, altogether. Each knows the ropes of the fitness equipment, which include high-end FreeMotion machines (bikes and treadmills), upper and lower body machines, free weights, and yoga mats. Since all the employees live in Julian, individuals are on a first name basis with members. The gym's marketing plan takes advantage of the close- knit quality of Julian life. Word of mouth is king. When Kraemer promoted the gym at his Sit & Fit class, 40 to 50 members went home and told their spouses and called their friends. An ongoing promotion includes gift cards for prospective members, "so they can try out the facilities first." Indeed Kraemer set up a fee schedule that is consistent with the different economic levels in Julian. Single memberships are $40 per month, couples $70, and families are $100 to $130. All are on a year's contract and are subject to one-time initiation fees running from $59 to $99. There's also a one-day drop in rate for Julian weekenders and visitors. Julian Fitness Center is located at 2216 Main St., 760/765-1576. Hours are 7 a.rn. to 7 p.m. Mon., Wed., Fri., and Sat., and 7 a.m to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
