For Barbara Nesbitt, a fair-haired Georgia native, she's found hers among the talented singer-songwriters of San Diego by way of Atlanta, Norfolk and Austin. Her life is reflected in the songs she writes which are about the ways, large and small, we abandon and seek that elusive safety of home., In late 2005, Nesbitt followed her heart to San Diego where she quickly found performance showcases hosted and promoted by Listen Local San Diego's maven, Cathryn Beeks. Nesbitt developed fast friendships and fans among the supportive network of musicians. Not long after getting to town, she entered and won the San Diego Music Scene Cream of the Crop singer/songwriter competition and was nominated for best female singer for the inaugural H.A.T. Award. Inspired by her new surroundings and everything that came before, Nesbitt wrote the words and music for her debut album, "A Million Stories." Now based in Austin, Texas Barbara Nesbitt will be in Wynola Pizza's Red Barn for a Friday evening show starting at six. TailDraggers Saturday In Wynola This Saturday it's The TailDraggers who originally got together to play a gig for some private pilots having a barbecue in a hanger at Montgomery Field. Deciding to reflect that first gig with their name, they called themselves Captain Noonan and the TailDraggers in reference to Amelia Earhart's navigator on her last flight and the type of plane in which they were lost. As time passed, they found themselves using the shortened name the TailDraggers. For almost a year, the TailDraggers honed their chops as the Tuesday night house band at Hensley's Flying Elephant Bar and Grill. Given, Mike, Dan and Jason will be arriving straight from the Counrty Christmas Celebration in town. It all happens from 6pm- 9pm. The Kitchen's open and the foods hot. See you there!
