Ask Pastor Rick |uw In The News Disgraced Swami dies in India born Keith Ham in Peekskill, N.Y., the son of a Baptist minister. He became a Krishna Swami in 1966. In the late 1960's, Bhaktipada and his Iongtime partner, the late Howard Wheeler, formed New Vrindaban, the community with a famed Palace of Gold. Starting with 132 acres, they eventually acquired 5,000 acres, becoming a destination for pilgrims in the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. He pleaded guilty to racketeering charges in 1996 and was sentenced to 20 years. A judge reduced the sentence to 12 years in 1997 citing poor health. He was barred from returning to New Vrindaban and eventually moved to ndia in 2008. (from the Arizona Republic, summarized by pastor Rick) Swam1 Bhakti pada, the Ask Pastor Rick disgraced former leader of the Do animals go to heaven? West Virginian Hare Krishna (from an 11year old girl) community, has died in India What a great question! I'm at age 74. Also known as supposing you have lost a Kirtanananda Swami, he wasbeloved pet and want to know about its destiny. So, to be quite honest with you, I don't know. Here's what I think. The Bible is clear that only human beings are created in the image of God. I cannot find any reference that suggests that other animals in creation have eternal spirits. So I don't think that 'all dogs go to heaven' (a play of words on a popular book by the same name). However, we do see the presence of animals in what the Bible calls the Millennial Kingdom. For example in the book of Isaiah there is a comment about lions lying down with lambs (and references to other animals as well). And although Revelation 21-22 speaks about a new heaven and a new earth for people to enjoy forever, I find nothing that would prchibit God from renewing the animal kingdom as well. When you and I get to heaven, let's talk about this question you sent to me! Rick Hill is the Senior Pastor at Hillside Community Church on 3rd and C Streets in Julian, CA.
